DAY 5 | Exploring Alexandria Begin today at the Catacombs of Kom
El Shoqafa. Discovered in 1900, these rock- cut tombs date to the 2nd century AD. At Pompey’s Pillar, you’ll find a monolithic column erected in 300 AD. Then tour the lovely Montazah Palace and Royal Gardens, and see the Roman Amphitheater. meals b+l+d
DAY 6 | Back to Cairo
Return to Cairo and check in to the Waldorf

DAY 7 | Embark the Oberoi Zahra
Fly to Luxor and board the Oberoi Zahra. After
lunch, step off with our expert Egyptologist and tour the stunning Karnak Temple with its massive pillars and grand Hypostyle Hall. Nearby, Luxor Temple is connected to Karnak by the remarkable, nearly 2-mile long Avenue of the Sphinxes. meals b+l+d
DAY 8 | Valley of the Kings
Focusing on the sites of the Nile’s West Bank,
today’s touring includes the famous tomb of the young king Tutankhamen and the amazing Tomb of Ramses VI. You’ll also marvel at the Colossi of Memnon and visit the temple at Madinat Habu – with its imposing walls. DAY 9 | Cruising to Edfu
Step ashore with our engaging Egyptologist
in Edfu to visit the Temple of Haroeris - rich in design, intricate in detail and ingenious in its construction. You’ll also visit the Temple of Kom Ombo. Set on a picturesque river bend, this unusual dual-deity temple is dedicated to the falcon-headed God Horus and the fearsome Crocodile God Sobek. meals b+l+d
DAY 10 | A Day in Aswan
Discover one of the marvels of the modern
era. Built in 1972, the High Dam at Aswan spans more than 2 miles and soars 300 feet. You’ll also visit the Philae Temple , rescued from the rising waters of Lake Nasser after the completion of the High Dam. After lunch, you’ll step aboard a felucca, traditional sailing vessel of the Nile to visit the Aswan Botanical Garden on El Nabatat Island. meals b+l+d

Disembark and fly to Abu Simbel to tour the Temple of Ramses II. Carved from solid rock, the 67-foot tall figures of the King are among the most impressive sites of antiquity. Then

Drawing on his professional experience mapping excavations on the Giza Plateau, he is a wonderful speaker. Then gaze upon the Great Pyramids and have lunch at the Mena House. Continue to Memphis , site of Egypt’s ancient capital, and then see the remarkable Step Pyramid
of King Zoser at Sakkara. (When the new Grand Egyptian Museum opens, you’ll be among the first to tour this state-of-the-art facility overlooking the Great Pyramids.) This evening, you’ll dine along the Nile. meals b+l+d
DAY 3 | Old Cairo
With our expert Egyptologist, your tour of Old Cairo includes fine views from the Citadel, a medieval fortification set on a hill. After lunch, you’ll visit the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities - a perfect introduction to the ancient sites you’ll explore along the Nile. DAY 4 | Travel to Alexandria
