DAY 5 | Art, Culture +Life in Bhutan
At the National Institute, meet students learning traditional arts like painting and woodcarving. Then visit Dechen Phodrang, a monastic school that hums with the Buddhist recitations of its young students. DAY 6 | Onward to Punakha
Visit Simtokha Dzong, Bhutan’s oldest
fortress, and continue over the 10,300-foot Dochula Pass. On a clear day, you’ll have 360° views over the Himalayas. At Dochula Monastery, you can light a butter lamp – a Buddhist act of wisdom. Descend into the valley to visit Punakha Dzong, built in 1671. Overnight at the Uma Lodge. meals b+l+d
DAY 7 | Scenic drive to Paro
