DAYS 7 + 8 | Balinese Culture
For truly intimate experiences, we’ll divide into
groups of 8 guests. Over the next two days, each group will have a chance to enjoy both of these specially planned activities:
Our Babi Guling Feast begins at the home of Bapak Enong Ismail, a museum curator, for a brief cultural talk. After watching his neighbors prepare Bali’s classic roast pork feast, we’ll tour some of the nearby temples. Back at Ismail’s home, our Babi Guling has been roasting to perfection – and is now ready for
a congenial meal with our host and his friends.
Our Subak Guliang Adventure begins in a quiet village where you’ll learn about their traditions and Subak; dating back centuries, Subak is Bali’s unique social system – both a way of life and a philosophy centered around the island’s water temples . After an al fresco lunch, you’ll visit the lovely Pura Kehen Temple.
One evening, we’ll all sit down to the 8-course farm-to-table Degustation Menu at Aperitif, where modern gastronomy blends
artfully with traditional Indonesian flavors.
