Based upon your preferences you’ll spend the day exploring some of these villages - maybe Stellenbosch, the country’s second oldest city, or Franschhoek, settled by French Huguenots in 1688. You’ll also be able to visit picturesque vineyard estates and tour award-winning wine cellars. Along the way, of course, you’ll have a chance to sample fine red and white South African wines as well as Cap Classiques – South Africa’s answer to Champagne. History buffs will certainly want to include Boschendal, an historic estate with fine Cape Dutch buildings and priceless period furnishings. This full-day excursion includes lunch at one of the award-winning restaurants here in a region that’s as famous for its cuisine as its wines.
