Drive along the Rajpath past the imposing India Gate and Presidential Palace. Visit Jama Masjid, India’s largest mosque, and then hop aboard a traditional pedicab for a ride through the bustling Chandni Chowk Market. Admire the imposing façade of the Red Fort c before taking a midday break to enjoy lunch on your own. In the afternoon, visit two of the city’s most remarkable landmarks, Qutab Minar c with its elaborately carved minaret and Emperor Humayun’s Tomb c. Early risers will have an opportunity to visit the Taj Mahal again this morning, an unforgettable spectacle as the sun casts its first light upon the iridescent marble of this monument to everlasting love. After breakfast, visit the palatial Agra Fort c, a stellar example of Indo-Persian style that stretches for more than a mile along the banks of the tranquil Yamuna River.  Meals B

Onward to Jaipur

Depart Agra this morning and explore the “ghost town” of Fatehpur Sikri c, built and mysteriously abandoned in the 16th century. Still in pristine condition, it promises a fascinating look into the opulence of Mughal court life long ago. Continue to Jaipur, traveling through the countryside bustling with village life. Arrive in the legendary Pink City and check in to the Marriott Hotel. AAA Engaging Experience: This evening, enjoy a guided stroll through the colorful lanes and markets of Old Jaipur. Explore the shops, many of which have been in the same family for generations, and learn how to don a traditional saree and turban.  Meals B

AAA Engaging Experience: To tour the Amber Palace, home to opulent pavilions, lovely gardens, grand halls and the mesmerizing Chamber of Mirrors. Marvel at the ornately carved façade of the Palace of Winds and tour the extensive collection of the City Palace Museum, including ancient weapons and glittering royal finery. Your sightseeing ends later this afternoon at Jantar Mantar c, an accurate observatory with enormous stone instruments from the 17th century!  Meals B

Discover Historic Cochin

After breakfast, your private car, driver and in-the-know guide will be waiting to show you the architectural highlights of historic Cochin, hailed by long-ago seafaring merchants as the Queen of the Arabian Sea! Traveling along the picturesque harbor of the first European settlement in India, you’ll have a chance to see fishermen at work with their traditional Chinese fishing nets. Continue to the area around Fort Kochi, founded nearly 500 years ago, and tour the Dutch Palace and 16h-century Jewish Synagogue. Then visit historic St. Francis Church, where the Portuguese explorer Vasco De Gamma died in 1524, before returning to your hotel. Meals B
