Upon arrival at the airport in Paro, you’ll be warmly greeted by your personal guide. A scenic journey with your own private car and driver brings you into the lovely Thimphu Valley. Exploring the Thimphu Valley

Today’s in-depth private car sightseeing begins at the National Library, home to a priceless collection of Buddhist manuscripts. At the Painting School, dedicated students follow a 6-year course to master Bhutan’s 13 traditional arts and crafts. Then visit the Textile and Folk Heritage Museum for fascinating insight into Bhutanese culture and traditions. In the afternoon, your sightseeing continues at the imposing Trashichhoedzong Fortress; built in 1641, it’s still the center of government and religion. Continue on to the King’s Memorial Chorten, continuously circumambulated by pilgrims chanting mantras and spinning their prayer wheels. This enriching day ends at the Handicrafts Emporium, filled with traditional artisan crafts including textiles, Thangka paintings, ceramics, carvings and jewelry. Meals B,L,D

Through the scenic Paro Valley

Travel by chauffeured car through the clustered hamlets and terraced rice paddies of the tranquil Paro Valley. In the afternoon, visit Ta Dzong, originally built as the Watchtower and now home to the National Museum. Its extensive collection includes antique Thangka paintings, textiles, weapons and other cultural artifacts. Then walk to nearby Rinpung Dzong where courtyard galleries are decorated with fine Buddhist paintings. Overnight at your choice of hotel in Paro. Meals B,L,D

The Magnificent Tiger’s Nest

An unforgettable day unfolds as you ascend to Taktsang, the legendary Tiger’s Nest Monastery perched high on a cliff overlooking the Paro Valley. Continue with your personal guide to explore the impressive fortress ruins of Drukgyel Dzong, where Bhutanese warriors fought Tibetan invaders centuries ago. Before returning to your hotel in Paro, visit the 7th century temple which marks the introduction of Buddhism to Bhutan. Meals B,L,D

Day 1 Arrive Paro – Thimphu

Arrive in Paro by flight; you’ll be warmly greeted by your personal guide and continue a scenic journey with your own private car and driver to lovely Thimpu Valley.

If your arrival happens to be on a weekend (Saturday or Sunday), you can enjoy visiting Weekend market where locals buy spices and vegetables etc.

In the evening, visit a local Bhutanese Family and have dinner with them.

Thimphu is the capital of Bhutan, and also the name of the valley and Dzongkhag or district. With estimated population of around 100,000, Thimphu is Bhutan's largest city. Thimphu valley is at an average elevation of 2300m. It was a wooded farming valley until 1951, when massive 17th century Fortress, Tashicho Dzong, was revamped by King Jigme Dorji Wangchuk to form Bhutan's official capital and replace the ancient capital of Punakha. Day 2 Thimpu Valley Tour

In Thimphu, start your sightseeing with visit to National Library, home to a priceless collection of Buddhist manuscripts. At the Painting School, dedicated students follow a 6-year course to master Bhutan’s 13 traditional arts and crafts. Then visit the Textile and Folk Heritage Museum for fascinating insight into Bhutanese culture and traditions.

Lunch shall be at a local Bhutanese Restaurant to give you a flavor of Bhutanese cuisine.

In the afternoon, your sightseeing continues at the imposing Tashichho Dzong Fortress; built in 1641, it’s still the center of government and religion. Continue on to the King’s Memorial Chorten, continuously circumambulated by pilgrims chanting mantras and spinning their prayer wheels. Dinner shall be at your hotel. Meals B, L, D

Day 3 Thimphu – Paro

After breakfast, Travel by chauffeured car through the clustered hamlets and terraced rice paddies of the tranquil Paro Valley. Check-in at your pre booked hotel

You can either have a lunch at the hotel or at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, visit Ta Dzong, originally built as the Watchtower and now home to the National Museum. Its extensive collection includes antique Thangka paintings, textiles, weapons and other cultural artifacts. Then walk to nearby Paro Rinpung Dzong was consecrated in 1645 by Shabdrung Nawang Namgyal on the site of smaller fort. Throughout the 17th and 18th centuries it served as a bastion against invasion from the north. It is regarded as one of the finest Bhutanese architecture - with intricate wood work, large beams slotted into each other and held together without nails.

In the evening, visit a Traditional Farm House and have dinner over there.

Day 4 Paro (Excursion to Taktsang)

Today you will enjoy the visit to Taktshang or 'Tiger's Nest' as it is often referred to for Taktshang Pelphung monastery, is one of the most venerated and famous of Bhutan's monasteries. It is located on the face of a 900m sheer cliff. It is an impressive and unmissable site, but accessible only by walk or to ride mules/pony. From the trail head at Rumtokto (2600m), the walk till the Cafeteria is a steep one hour uphill (about 350m ascent). From the Cafeteria (2940m), one can get a good close-up view of Taktshang. Once inside the monastery, there are several shrines or temples with few monks in residence.

Continue your visit to Dungtshe Lhakhang: Dungtse Lhakhang was constructed by the great bridge-builder Thangtong Gyelpo in 1433. It is said to have been built on the head of demoness, who was causing illness to the inhabitants. The building was restored in 1841 and is a unique repository of Kagyu lineage arts. You may or may not be permitted inside but can walk around this three-storey Chorten-type building. Meals B, L, D
