On arrival in Kathmandu, our VIP Services begin near the airport’s immigration counter where you’ll be met and assisted through Arrival Formalities and baggage claim. Continue through Customs and transfer to your luxury hotel.

Ancient Stupas + Patan Durbar Square

Begin your day atop the sacred hill of Swayambhunath, where prayer flags catch the wind and monks circle a stupa said to have watched over the valley for two millennia. Descend into the heart of Kathmandu Durbar Square, birthplace of the city’s name and a remarkable showcase of Newar craftsmanship carved from a single legendary tree. Continue to Patan Durbar Square, an intimate royal enclave of graceful pagoda temples, artistic courtyards, and palace architecture that reveals the valley’s enduring cultural brilliance. Meals B

Medieval Bhaktapur + Religious Monuments

Dwarikas Hotel - Kathmandu, Nepal

After breakfast, journey into the timeless Kathmandu Valley to explore ancient Bhadgaon, another one of the three kingdoms of medieval Nepal. In the town’s main square, you’ll see architectural treasures like the Lion Gate and the Palace of 55 Windows. The 5-storied Nyatapola Temple is built atop impressive terraces adorned with large statues depicting Goddesses, Humans and Beasts.
 
Then visit Boudhanath, the largest stupa in Nepal and venerated by both Tibetan and Nepalese Buddhists. Before returning to Kathmandu, you’ll also stop along the banks of the picturesque Bagmati River to see Pashupatinath Temple; dedicated to Lord Shiva this is one of the holiest Hindu shrines in the world. Fly this morning from Kathmandu to Bharatpur, where the landscape opens into the lush lowlands of Chitwan. A scenic drive brings you to your jungle lodge, set along one of Nepal’s most storied rivers. After lunch, join an expert naturalist for your first foray into the wild. Drift quietly along the Rapti or Narayani River, a serene passage revealing crocodiles warming themselves on sandy banks and an astonishing variety of birdlife moving through the trees.
