After an early breakfast, you’ll be chauffeured to the airport for your included morning flight to Akureyri. On arrival, your local guide – a resident of the North Coast – will be waiting to take you on a full-day private tour. Heading east, you’ll travel along the picturesque Eyjafjordur coastline, with its stunning views of mountains and sea. At Godafoss Waterfall, you’ll behold a thundering cascade that plunges 40 feet across a chasm that stretches nearly 100 feet across. In the year 1000 after Christianity was declared the official religion of Iceland, statues of Norse Gods were hurled into the falls – earning these cascades its name as the “Waterfall of the Gods.” Not far away, you’ll behold the captivating beauty of Lake Myvatn. With an estimated 132,000 gallons of water plunging over a 320-foot wide chasm every second, the roaring Dettifoss Waterfall is said to be the most powerful cascade in all of Europe. Then visit the horseshoe-shaped Ásbyrgi Canyon before spending time in Húsavík. With only 2,000 residents and a lively harborfront, this friendly community offers a chance to experience life in the North. After sightseeing, we’ll take you back to Akureyri where you’ll spend the night at the inviting Hotel Kea. Meals B
