Upon arrival, you’ll be warmly greeted and chauffeured to your choice of first class or deluxe hotel. Both have been carefully chosen for their attentive service, inviting ambiance and convenient locations in the heart of town. The balance of this day is yours to enjoy as you wish.

After breakfast, set out on a privately guided walking tour that weaves together Reykjavik’s rich cultural heritage, artistic soul, and striking architecture. Begin at the atmospheric Old Harbor, once a hub of maritime trade and now a lively waterfront district lined with colorful fishing boats, cafés, and galleries. Then continue through the charming streets of the Old Town, nestled between the harbor and serene Lake Tjörnin. With its brightly painted wooden homes and 18th-century buildings, this district traces its roots to the city’s early days as a center for wool production. See the Harpa Concert Hall, an architectural gem of glass and light, and marvel at the city’s most recognizable landmark: Hallgrímskirkja Church. Towering 240 feet above the skyline, its soaring spire makes this iconic building the tallest in the city.  Meals B

We offer additional excursions to experience more of Iceland’s many wonders. These may be purchased in advance to enhance your stay in Reykjavik:

Sky Lagoon with Sky Pass + Private Transfers: Unwind at the Sky Lagoon, a stunning oceanside geothermal spa that has quickly become a favorite among locals and visitors since its opening in 2021. Perched on a dramatic cliffside with captivating views over the North Atlantic, the lagoon offers an immersive experience including a seven-step ritual rooted in Icelandic wellness traditions. This excursion includes chauffeured transfers and the Sky Pass which offers Lagoon admission, the complete 7-step ritual, private changing facilities and signature Sky Lagoon amenities.  Tour Duration: 3 hours with 2.5 hours to spend at the Lagoon

Blue Lagoon with Private Transfers: Relax in the warm, milky-blue waters of the Blue Lagoon, one of Iceland’s most iconic geothermal spas. Nestled in a rugged lava landscape, the lagoon is rich in healing minerals and naturally infused with silica and algae, known for their nourishing effects on the skin. At a soothing temperature around 38°C (100°F), the water offers the perfect environment for deep relaxation and rejuvenation. Our premium experience includes private roundtrip transfers, access to the lagoon, and indulgent extras such as a Silica Mud Mask, two additional face masks of your choice, use of a towel and bathrobe, and a complimentary drink from the In-Water Bar.  Tour Duration: 4 Hours with 2 hours to spend at the Lagoon

After breakfast, depart Reykjavik for a privately guided full-day adventure through Iceland’s legendary Golden Circle—a route that showcases the island’s dramatic landscapes and rich history. Your journey begins in Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and geological marvel where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet. Walking through this rift valley, you'll quite literally traverse continents, with towering cliffs marking the edges of these immense tectonic plates.

Continue to the serene shores of Lake Thingvallavatn, where Iceland’s ancient parliament was established over a millennium ago—making it the world’s oldest existing democratic assembly. In the geothermal area of Haukadalur, you’ll marvel at the Strokkur Geyser, celebrated for its spectacular displays of scalding water erupting 100 feet into the air. The day culminates at Gullfoss. Also known as the Golden Falls, this thundering two-tiered waterfall crashes dramatically into a canyon below, a breathtaking finale to this unforgettable day.  Meals B

We also offer these additional activities that can be purchased in advance to enhance your exploration of the Golden Circle:

Fridheimar Farm Visit with Lunch: Take a break from your Golden Circle sightseeing on Fridheimar Farm, a family-run agricultural greenhouse where Iceland’s geothermal energy makes year-round tomato cultivation possible—even in the depths of winter. Enjoy a brief, engaging introduction to sustainable horticulture, visit the horse stables, and savor a light lunch of freshly made tomato soup served among the vines. Duration: 1 to 1.5 Hours

Soak in the Secret Lagoon: Add a restorative stop to your Golden Circle excursion with a visit to the Secret Lagoon, Iceland’s oldest natural pool. Set amidst moss-covered lava fields, the pool harnesses geothermal power to keep the water around 102° year-round. Keep your eyes open for a small geyser erupting near the edge and slip into the warm, mineral-rich waters as your cares melt away. Includes entry, towel and indoor changing room with lockers and shower. Don’t forget your swimsuit! Duration: Approximately 2 Hours

After breakfast, set out on a full-day journey with your private car, driver and guide. Your destination is Iceland’s breathtaking South Coast—a region defined by dramatic contrasts and raw natural beauty. Travel past lush farmlands framed by rugged mountains and glacial rivers as you make your way toward the charming seaside village of Vík, nestled beneath towering bird cliffs and known for its striking coastal scenery.

You’ll also visit Seljalandsfoss, a graceful waterfall that plunges from ancient cliffs—and, uniquely, allows visitors to walk behind its shimmering cascade. Continue to Skógafoss, one of Iceland’s most picturesque waterfalls renowned for its impressive drop of nearly 200 feet. Stop at the tiny village of Skógar, home to traditional turf-roofed houses and charming schoolhouse built in 1901.

Then stroll along Reynisfjara, the famous black sand beach framed by sea stacks and basalt columns rising like organ pipes from the earth. With pounding ocean surf on one side and steep cliffs above, it’s one of Iceland’s most hauntingly beautiful landscapes—a fitting finale to a day of discovery along the southern edge of the island.  Meals B

The Icelandic capital is compact and walkable, and with our hotels’ convenient city-center locations, it’s easy to step out and explore more of Reykjavik at you own pace. Stroll along Laugavegur Street, lined with inviting boutiques, galleries, restaurants and cafés, or return to the Old Harbour for lunch along the waterfront. The Reykjavik Botanical Garden, National Museum of Iceland and Reykjavik Art Museum are also worth visiting.  Meals B
