Argentina’s vibrant capital is a rich mosaic of cultures, with Spanish, Italian, German and French influences in the city’s architecture, cuisine and joy-filled attitude of its residents. Join our insightful native-born guide to discover the city he loves and knows so well from Plaza de Mayo to historic neighborhoods like La Boca, the colorful enclave where the Tango was born. Drive through lovely Palermo and see the Recoleta Cemetery where Eva Peron was laid to rest. AAA Engaging Experience: Learn more about Ms. Peron’s fascinating life at the Evita Museum, set inside an historic mansion which she acquired in 1948 as a shelter for women. This evening, we’ll take you to Café de lost Angelitos, one of the best places in town for dinner and an authentic performance of fiery Tango.  Meals B,D

San Telmo

This handsome district of San Telmo is the city’s oldest and features splendid historically significant architecture. Today it also hosts the weekly San Telmo Antique Fair. In addition to more than 250 fine antique vendors, you’ll join local residents who are out to shop and enjoy the impromptu performances of tango and theater that make this one of the city’s liveliest events. AAA Engaging Experience: You’ll also visit the Zanjon de Granados Underground Tunnels. Discovered in 1986, this unique urban architectural site encompasses a network of old brick tunnels and cisterns. Dating back to the mid 1700’s and now meticulously reconstructed and lit, this subterranean complex provides a fascinating look into the earliest days of the city.  Meals B

After a leisurely morning, we’ll take you to the airport for your flight to Iguassu where you’ll be met and escorted to the 5-star Belmond Das Cataratas, the only hotel situated inside Brazil’s Iguassu National Park. Meals B

Out and about in delightful Rio

Sightseeing here in Rio begins this morning at the impressive Sambodromo where Brazil’s legendary Samba schools compete during Carnival. You’ll also visit the Metropolitan Cathedral, an impressive contemporary landmark with stained glass windows that soar more than 200 feet from floor to ceiling. AAA Engaging Experience: A thrilling 2-stage cable car takes you up Sugarloaf Mountain for amazing views over the city and its dramatic backdrop of sea, mountain and sky. You’ll also ascend Mt. Corcovado c to behold the inspiring 100-foot tall statue of Christ the Redeemer and enjoy breathtaking 360° views over Rio. After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your included flight to Manaus where you’ll be met and escorted to the Park Suites Hotel. Settle into to your Deluxe Room and enjoy the rest of your day at leisure in this lively river port.  Meals B

Embark the Motor Yacht Tucano

After a leisurely start to your day, embark the M/Y Tucano in late afternoon and begin your Amazon odyssey gliding up the Rio Negro. Late afternoon finds your vessel navigating the vast Anavilhanas Archipelago. As conditions permit, you might go for an excursion into the dense forests alive with squirrel monkeys and howler monkeys. This is also a great chance to see many brightly colored Amazon birds. Return to ship for hors d’oeuvres on the Observation Deck as the
sun dips behind the dense foliage. After dinner, set out in the Tucano’s launches to search for nocturnal creatures like the caiman. Meals B,D

Deeper into the Amazon

Join our naturalists this morning to explore the jungles of the Anavilhanas Archipelago. Here you’ll find the Igapó, an unusual flooded eco-system of dense forests rising from the waters of the Rio Negro. Later, a hike through a high Amazon forest reveals a very different environment, home to its own unique flora and fauna. As weather and water-level conditions permit, you will embark on up to four guided excursions today, maybe even a night safari. Meals B,L,D

Forest communities of the Amazon

Awaken to another remote rainforest area accessible only to shallow-draft vessels like the Tucano. Explore by launch and then set out on a guided forest walk. After lunch, go ashore to visit a small Amazon village and learn about the traditions that help these families survive in the remote interior. During the night, the Tucano weighs anchor and navigates downstream to the Xiborena Peninsula that divides the Rio Negro and Amazon River. Meals B,L,D

Lago Janauari Park and the Meeting of the Waters

As conditions permit, explore by launch through the dense forests of Lago Janauari Ecological Park. Venturing through narrow channels overhung with trees and vines, you’ll have a chance to espy monkeys, sloths and the occasional collared anteater. After lunch, the Tucano navigates along the Encontra das Aguas, where the brown waters of the Amazon and the darker waters of the Rio Negro flow side by side for miles without mixing. Pink and grey river dolphins are often seen cavorting along this stark line of contrasting currents. Meals B,L,D

Enjoy a leisurely morning and then set out this afternoon with your personal guide for a private tour of Lima’s highlights, beginning with the splendid Colonial architecture of Plaza Mayor and the historic city center. Then tour the extensive pre-Columbian collection of the renowned Larco Herrera Museum before returning to the oxygentated rooms at the boutique Aranwa Cuzco or the historica Palacio del Inka, Luxury Colelction. Fly to Cuzco

This morning, you’ll be chauffeured to the airport for your flight to Cuzco, where you’ll be warmly greeted and escorted to your choice of hotel, the Novotel or the JW Marriott. After time to relax and acclimate to the altitude, your privately guided afternoon tour includes the Cathedral and the Temple of the Sun. Continue by private car into the mountains outside of town to visit the Incan site of Sacsayhuaman, known for its impressive masonry and great views over the city. At the Almudena Cemetery and bustling San Pedro Market, your personal guide will offer unique insight into all that you encounter, including ancient Andean traditions which still endure in the daily lives of Cuzco’s residents. Through the Sacred Valley to Machu Picchu

Your in-depth visit to Machu Picchu begins from Cuzco aboard the Vistadome Train. Travel through the captivating landscapes of the Sacred Valley, a region of timeless villages, terraced fields and snow-capped Andean peaks. Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, continue by motorcoach up the winding road to Machu Picchu and explore this ancient citadel as your expert guide illuminates the history and culture of the once-great Inca Empire. Behold the grandeur and majesty of Machu Picchu as the sun breaks across the mountain peaks to cast its first golden rays upon the ancient stones of this fabled Lost City. But please exercise caution as morning dew can make the stones and paths of Machu Picchu slippery.
