You’ll be escorted to the airport this morning for your included flight over the magnificent peaks of the Andes range! Upon arrival in the town of Coca, transfer to the banks of the pristine Napo River for a 2-hour boat journey. Enjoy a box lunch en route and keep your eyes sharp for possible sightings of herons, kingfishers and other native birds. The final leg of your journey is in a traditional dugout canoe, travelling along a narrow creek that connects the Napo River with the lake where our lodge is located. Along the way, you’ll have a good chance to observe various species of monkeys as well as spectacular Amazon birds like the toucan, parrot and macaw. In the late afternoon, you’ll arrive at the exceptional Napo Wildlife Center Lodge, built in partnership with the indigenous Kichwa community in Yasuni National Park, the largest tract of tropical rainforest in Ecuador! Enjoy a refreshing welcome drink as you take in the spectacular views of Lake Añangu and then settle in to your generously appointed cabana. After dinner this evening, you can join the Lodge’s expert native guides for a thrilling Night Safari around the lake, a terrific opportunity to espy nocturnal creatures like the elusive cayman.
