Welcome to Granada, Nicaragua

Upon arrival at Managua’s international airport, you’ll be warmly greeted and escorted by private car to the handsome Colonial city of Granada. Sit down to a delightful lunch at Mediterraneo Restaurant and then join your guide for a private afternoon tour of the city. Founded in 1525, Granada is the oldest Colonial-era city in the Americas. Your sightseeing tour will showcase Granada’s wealth of beautifully preserved Colonial architecture and its stunning location on the shores of Lake Nicaragua. Enjoy a relaxing boat excursion to admire the lake’s many islands and islets before continuing to your hotel. Tonight, stay at the charming and intimate Plaza Colon Granada. Meals L

Full day excursion to Masaya Volcano National Park

After breakfast, your private car, driver and guide will be waiting to take you on a day-long excursion into the countryside, beginning at the interpretation center and museum close to the entrance to Masaya Volcano National Park. Marvel at the captivating beauty of the Masaya Lagoon and then ascend to the volcano’s summit for a short walk to the Santiago Crater, active since 1946! At the nearby Masaya Arts & Crafts Market, you’ll find beautifully made ceramics, hammocks, woodcarvings and leather goods. After lunch at El Filete Restaurant, you’ll visit the charming village of San Juan de Oriente, famed for the skill and creativity of its ceramic artisans. Stop in Catarina to take in the stunning volcano landscapes before returning to your hotel in Granada.
