Showcasing Peru’s Inca and Colonial wonders and its captivating Andean scenery, our journey is highlighted by a luxury rail journey aboard the Belmond Andean Explorer from Cuzco to Lake Titicaca and Arequipa.
Grandeur of Peru
Located in an exclusive residential district of Miraflores, the Belmond Miraflores Park Hotel is near to traditional culture and city experiences. All suites have internet access, cable TV, minibar, climate control, and telephone. Additional amenities include restaurant, swimming pool, spa, fitness center, and bar.
In the Sacred Valley of the Incas, among verdant fields and towering mountains, lies Belmond Hotel Rio Sagrado. Set on the banks of the rushing Urubamba River, this luxury hotel is built in natural materials to resemble an authentic Andean village. Situated at a lower altitude than nearby Cusco, the hotel provides the perfect environment in which to acclimatise, and is an ideal base to explore the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. So savour fresh produce in the restaurant, enjoy a local Sacred Valley massage or spend a few soothing minutes feeding the hotel's baby alpacas. Slip into the spirit of Peruvian life.
Belmond Sanctuary Lodge is the only hotel located adjacent to the ancient Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. It offers its guests exceptionally easy access from early morning to late afternoon, when most of the day visitors and buses have left. Sit out on a terrace and savour Peruvian cuisine based on produce grown on the Lodge’s own plot: this delightful hideaway is the perfect place to relax and unwind in the shadow of the Lost City.
Set in a tranquil plaza behind Cusco's main square, this former palace and convent emerged from years of restoration to become one of the city's most exclusive hotels. Step past walls of Inca stones and into a cloistered courtyard with an ancient fountain at its heart. Then be surprised as contemporary Cusco comes to the fore: a fabulous spa, the city's first outdoor pool and stylish restaurants serving cutting-edge local cuisine. This intimate urban retreat has just 55 suites, each enriched with oxygen and with its own private bar where guests can create drinks accented with fresh ingredients grown at and around the hotel.
Accommodating only 48 passengers, South America’s first luxury sleeper train promises an inspiring journey through the high-mountain landscapes that stretch south and eastward from the ancient Inca capital of Cuzco. When you’re not off-train exploring the sights with our expert Peruvian guides, you can gather with your fellow passenger for congenial conversation in the Lounge, accompanied by live piano music. Or retreat to the Observation Car and sip a traditional Pisco Sour as you enjoy the passing scenery. You can even step out to breathe the fresh Andean air from the open deck as the train winds its way through these timeless landscapes.
The Andean Explorer features two elegant Dining Carriages where you’ll join fellow travelers for fine, seasonal dishes - prepared with the freshest, locally-sourced ingredients and attentively served by the friendly staff. The menus have been imaginatively designed and refined by the skilled chefs from the luxury Belmond Hotel Monasterio in Cuzco.
Afternoon Tea and a well-stocked onboard bar complete this luxury rail experience.
