Welcome to São Paulo, Brazil

Upon arrival at the airport, you’ll be warmly greeted and escorted by private car to the deluxe InterContinental Hotel. Ideally situated just a block off Paulista Avenue, one of the city’s main commercial and financial thoroughfares, this contemporary landmark makes is the perfect base for exploring the culinary, cultural and sightseeing attractions of São Paulo.

Discover São Paulo

Accompanied by your in-the-know personal guide, you’ll set out this morning for a half-day tour designed to explore the many facets of this bustling, multi-cultural metropolis. Starting with a walking tour in the downtown area, you’ll learn about the city’s history as you take in famous sights like the Sé Cathedral, the 4th largest Neo-Gothic church in the world. Then hop-in to your chauffeured vehicle to see other notable landmarks including the São Bento Monastery, Banespa Tower, and historic St. Francis Church.
 
With over 12 million residents, São Paulo is home to a rich cultural tapestry with large thriving communities of Germans, Chinese, Italians, Armenians, Greeks, Koreans, Lithuanians and their Brazilian-born descendents. Driving through the colorful district of Liberdade, for example, you’ll learn about the city’s Japanese and Brazilian-Japanese residents, the largest community of people of Japanese descent outside of Japan! Before returning to your hotel, you’ll also see Ibirapuera Park; with its inviting wooded grounds and waterways in the heart of the city, it’s often compared to New York’s Central Park. The balance of your day and this evening are free do enjoy and explore as you wish.
