Today’s fully-guided adventure begins at the Visitor Center of this unique biosphere reserve, originally established to protect the breeding habitat of the elusive Nubian ibex. After an orientation, you’ll continue down a cantilevered walkway over the dam and into a deep river gorge. From here, a guided hike of about two to three hours will take you along the Siq Trail between towering sandstone cliffs. The narrow gorge is filled with refreshing cool-water pools, and depending upon seasonal precipitation levels, you may find yourself swimming short distances or wading through the clear, gently flowing water. The trail ends at a lovely waterfall! Before returning to your Dead Sea resort, you’ll also visit a date farm in the Jordan Valley where you’ll learn about the cultivation of this sweet fruit. Meals B
