I have travelled a great deal over the past 12 years and I can say unequivocally that this trip to Japan was the best tour I have ever taken. This tour was a graduation present to my eldest grandchild, who has recently completed high school and who never had been out of the country previously and therefore I was concerned about safety, moving around the country, I expected to be part of a tour with others who move in a pack, but found instead that I had the equivalent of my own concierge service. I was provided with a detailed, clearly stated itinerary, English speaking guides that provided tickets, accompanied us to each destination and ensuring that we boarded the right trains, buses, etc. on both ends of every tour we took. The accommodations were superb, the service was unparalleled. In one instance, I had left a necklace in a hotel bathroom in Hakone and was on the platform of the bullet train heading to Kyoto when I realized this. As I mentioned it, the guide, took the information of my room number and my new destination and two days later my necklace was received at my hotel in Kyoto. I believe this was over and above the call of duty. The necklace held sentimental value, but not necessarily monetary value and I was astounded at her service to me. Additionally, we had planned a couple of extra tours that were not on your advertised list. They were well placed in the itinerary and were always on time, well planned and informative. Each tour gave plenty of time for a bit of self exploration.
