So many things delighted me, but first and foremost our FANTASTIC guide, Oum, and our impeccable drivers Joy and Joom. These 3 fabulous humans made this trip as wonderful as it could possibly be and I cannot sing their praises enough. Please share our compliments with their home companies in Thailand, as they should know what wonderful employees they have as well! Beyond that, this trip was delightful. We enjoyed the mix of leisure and scheduled time, as we often wanted to spend our evenings finding restaurants and haunting markets, and we could do so without missing any part of the tour. The days were well planned and perfectly busy, and the travel never seemed to be too much. Highlights for us included the Blue Elephant cooking school - this was a fantastic experience, and the chefs that met with us were true professionals - we had a blast. We also enjoyed the variety of temples and markets we visited - really giving us an idea of what life is like in Thailand. And I'd be remiss not to mention the inclusion of the Doi Tung royal project- really a wonderful thing to experience. The vehicles we used with our drivers were comfortable and so clean! And the hotels - especially the first and last - were lovely. The restaurants selected (minus one, see below) were tasty, clean and delicious!
