Sandra from VA gives this tour
The local guide in Chengdu (Abby) was excellent. She managed to have me see everything within the one day when I arrived. She knew I wanted to see the pandas and she made it happen quickly and then still managed to squeeze in the trip to the monastery which I was supposed to have the next day but had an early departure and would not be able to do it. She took me to a tea house and even to a small local restaurant to try the Chinese hot pot (tofu floating in a soup). She was so sweet. Then in Lhasa I had a great Tibetan guide. Unfortunately, I cannot remember is unusual name but he was very informative and took great care to show me everything. I was even fortunate to be at one of the monasteries when they were getting ready to do prayers. The altitude bothered me as I knew it would and he took extra care in making sure we went at a slower pace. Also, the drivers in Chengdu and Lhasa were very good. I am so glad I took these tours.
