DIANE from NV gives this tour
The Sri Lankan journey is really over, but the joy and warm memories continue. We never knew that we wanted to visit Sri Lanka … and after experiencing it, it’s a place that we can’t imagine living without. Thank you so much, Bob Drumm, for hosting another trip that was packed with truthful moments and access to the real Sri Lankan culture, its smiling people, and its UNESCO attractions. The annual Perahera, considered one of the largest Buddhist festivals in Asia, paraded a hundred colorfully-costumed and lit-up elephants and over three thousand dancers and musicians. The parade had high intensity-color, vibrant sounds from voices and drumbeats, billowing smoke from coconut torches, and a crowd of thousands of high-spirited locals … really, a magical evening. The boutique villas were intimately luxurious and we were spoiled, pampered and cared for by our own accommodating butlers. The meals and tea times were artfully crafted and delicious, but the Chili and Garlic Crab lunch at the Ministry of Crab was the best! The other travelers that we met felt like lifelong pals as we quickly bonded, played and was amused by Jorge, our friend and fellow traveler, who managed to delight us nightly with stories and tales. Again, thank you so much Alexander+Roberts and, in particular, Bob Drumm for graciously hosting another unforgettable trip.
