Ronald from PA gives this tour
Alexander and Roberts did an excellent job in creating and executing the excursion. Their representatives were efficient, organized, solicitous and helpful for the most part; their guides were professional and several were over-the-top in caring for us as tourists.
Mohamed Badr, the A&R rep in Egypt was unbelievable - - he met us as we arrived at the airport in Cairo and took us through the entry requirements quickly and efficiently. Throughout our stay in Egypt, he did everything that he could to make us comfortable and ease our stay and did the same as we left for Jordan. There was no task too big or too small for him. Iman and Behar, our tour guides in Egypt were also beyond amazing. They did everything for us and made sure that there was nothing left to chance, even providing us with Egyptian pounds for the toilets! The same can be said of the entire staff of the Oberoi Philae. Emad and the staff went out of their way to be personable, helpful and caring, even when they didn't have to. Everyone in Egypt set a standard of care and performance that was unmatched in my experience as a traveler.
In Jordan, Emir met us at the airport and assisted us when we left Jordan, which was very helpful. Mohamed was our tour guide (it seems that almost everyone is named Mohamed) and he was professional throughout, doing precisely what was required of him.
There seemed to be a glitch when we got to Israel. We were met at the Tel Aviv airport but somehow the A&R reps thought that it was just the other members of the tour not me. The first rep handled things superbly; not blinking an eye, he took all of us through the entry requirements (even putting us in the diplomatic line for passport control). He then handed us off to the transportation rep who appeared to be shaken by the fact that there were 3 of us not 2 because we were put in a taxi and one bag was tied to the trunk!
We contacted Debbie Bates of A&R after we arrived in Israel to make sure that our tour guide had the proper number so that there wouldn't continue to be a problem with transportation and she did make sure that the earlier glitch didn't happen again.
Our tour guide in Israel, Noam, was excellent. He had lots of information and good stories and was very flexible with us, willing to cater to our needs and wishes and anticipating us in many situations. His flexibility was most appreciated.
All of the hotels were, as advertised, excellent, with one outdoing the other in terms of comfort, amenities and service. The ship outdid all of the hotels - - I have never had such a large room in a hotel, let alone on a ship.
