At the core of the vast Kalahari Desert, the Central Kalahari Game Reserve is one of the largest protected areas on the continent. Amidst its sweeping vistas of acacia savannah and scrub-covered dunes, a fascinating spectrum of plants and animals have successfully adapted to living in these harsh conditions. Impressive herds of springbok, wildebeest and gemsbok are constantly foraging for food as predators stalk their next meal. These carnivores encompass small mammals like the Cape fox and honey badger as well as hyena, cheetah and the magnificent black-maned Kalahari lion!
