With its unique revolving cars, your cableway ascent this morning to the top of Table Mountain promises breathtaking 360° views. From the summit at 3,500 feet above sea level, there are spectacular clear-day vistas of the Twelve Apostles mountain range, Cape Town and Table Bay. Back in the city, your tour takes you through the colorful and historic Cape Malay Quarter and continues with a guided stroll through the Company Gardens – a fresh produce garden in the 17th century and now home to the South African Museum, National Gallery and St. George’s Cathedral. Then explore the bustling market stalls of Greenmarket Square and take in the Grand Parade where Nelson Mandela addressed the nation upon his release in 1990. At the District Six Museum, you’ll learn about this historic area and the forced relocation of its resident during the Apartheid Era. After lunch at one of our favorite restaurants in this food-centric city, the balance of your afternoon and evening is free to enjoy as you wish. Before taking your leave, our resident guide can offer suggestions for independent exploration and dinner. Meals B+L
