  • Day 1 - Welcome to Nairobi, Kenya

On arrival at the airport and clearance through customs and immigration, you’ll be warmly greeted and escorted to the Fairmont Norfolk Hotel. In the heart of the city, our luxury landmark has been the starting point for some of history’s greatest safari expeditions.
  • Day 2 - Fly into the Maasai Mara

Both the Giraffe Center and David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust are hailed for helping to save Rothschild giraffe, elephant and rhino, but it’s the passions that drove two families to establish these organizations that will inspire you. Dine at Tamambo Karen Blixen, set on the author’s former homestead, before flying into the Maasai Mara where big game roam in the same super-abundance that thrilled Teddy Roosevelt. You’ll be welcomed by Maasai dancers and cool eucalyptus-scented towels. At the Fairmont Mara Safari Club, unwind on your private verandah overlooking the hippo and crocodilefilled Mara River. meals b+l+d
  • Day 3 - Ballooning over the Maasai Mara

The sun’s rays are just beginning to flicker across the sky as you float silently above the golden game-filled expanse of the Maasai Mara, home to large herds of herbivores and their ferocious predators! After lunch, luxuriate in the ambience of the Fairmont Club before an exhilarating safari drive and another chance to spot all of the Big Five. meals b+l+d
  • Day 4 - In the Shadow of Mt. Kilimanjaro

Enjoy a morning game drive before your flight via Nairobi to Amboseli National Park. Set against the majestic silhouette of Kilimanjaro, Amboseli is heralded for its quintessentially African landscapes of open plains, rolling savanna and acacia woodlands. Spend two nights at Ol Tukai Lodge. meals b+l+d
  • Day 5 - Morning + Afternoon Game Drives

Amboseli is the best place in Africa to get close to herds of free-ranging elephants... and that is exactly what you’ll do with our safari guides. This is the day you might also check impala, lion, cheetah and zebra off your list. meals b+l+d
  • Day 6 - Through the Great Rift Valley

Cross the border into Tanzania for lunch in Arusha and journey across the magnificent Great Rift Valley to Lake Manyara National Park, one of the prettiest and most wildlife-rich parks in the country. Check in to the deluxe Lake Manyara Serena Lodge and enjoy a thrilling evening game drive. Be on the lookout for Manyara’s unusual tree-climbing lions that retreat into the branches of the umbrella tree. meals b+l+d
  • Day 7 - Onward to Ngorongoro c

Set out this morning to spot the flocks of flamingos, herons and pelicans that gather on the lakeshore as well as Sykes’ monkeys, olive baboons and bushbuck. Midday finds you gazing across the world’s largest intact caldera from your luxury tent at Lemala Ngorongoro. Later, thoughtful engagement with Maasai villagers reveals the challenges and rewards of life in East Africa. meals b+l+d

[Travelers in May will stay at the Ngorongoro Serena Lodge]
  • Day 8 - You’ll be First on the Crater Floor!

Encircled by mountains, the open grasslands of Ngorongoro are easy for officials to patrol, resulting in healthy populations of endangered species like black rhino and cheetah. And with Lemala’s privileged access, you’ll bypass the long line of vehicles at the main entry for unmatched game-viewing on the crater floor before other visitors have even arrived. Return to camp for lunch and a relaxing afternoon. meals b+l+d
  • Day 9 - Into the Serengeti c

Fly into the Serengeti where you’ll be escorted to one of our Lemala Serengeti Camps. With strategic settings at the Mara River and Ndutu Plains, our luxury Lemala camps capture all the spectacle of Africa at its best anytime of year. This afternoon, you’ll experience firsthand why the Serengeti has earned its reputation as a safari paradise! Sundowner cocktails and an elegant candle-lit dinner are the perfect ending to the day. meals b+l+d

[In May, guests will stay at the Serena Serengeti Lodge]
  • Day 10 - The Amazing Serengeti

The enormous variety of exotic birds, horned bovines, ungulates, wild dogs and big cats that roam the vast expanse of the Serengeti is mindboggling... and you’ll have two days of morning and afternoon game drives to take it all in! meals b+l+d
  • Day 11 - The Amazing Serengeti
